(Fun fact: I used to hike the trail pictured when I loved in RI, and that awesome tree was a favorite of my boys! so fun to share it with a family I was photographing!)

My first day back in New England, the weather said:

“Sunny skies, then thunder storms, chance of hail, gusty winds, rain possible, partly cloudy in evening.”

6 different types of weather predicted in one day!

Yes- that’s what I remembered when living and running my photography business in New England!

Always kept me on my toes!

I was nervous and checking the weather frequently since this was just a trip and couldn’t reschedule anyone.

It was chilly and rainy many of the days I was there even though it was mid June.

The day of my Mini Sessions, it had been a sunny, but windy day.

I had planned the sessions for the evening when the wind was supposed to die down.

But despite my careful planning the day of the Mini’s, the winds ended up picking up and the cloud blew in!

The sky turned dark and the winds got up to 30 mph!

I stayed calm and altered my original ideas-  I ALWAYS have a plan B, its just the way I am.

The first family that showed up (pictured here) came up from South County, about 35 mins away, and watched as the dark clouds came in.

None of us were dressed for cold windy weather!

I was worried they were stressed out about the change in weather, but luckily, this family was amazing and so positive!

I ended up taking them on an old hiking trail that I used to bring my boys,

and thankfully, they loved that idea of having the forest in the pics, and the tall trees sheltered us from the crazy gusty winds of up to 30 mph (or so my weather app said)!

This tree pictured above was a favorite of my boys, and it was so fun to show it to these handsome guys.

The sun even decided to peek out as I took this pic!

Although looking at their photos, you would never in a million years guess it was a windy session,

and I think a big part of that is their positive energy and sense of adventure.

I can’t wait to show you more,

stay tuned!
