What a surprise gift this was! If you’ve been with me on my photography journey at any time for the past decade you know that travel sessions make my heart so happy. Being able to combine my photography with travel is a big passion of mine. I love exploring new places & capturing new faces- it brings me so much joy! Because of the obvious travel restrictions this year, it wasn’t even in my radar to think of even offering a travel session on this trip- not to mention we were not even scheduled to be in Zion or Bryce- we were headed to Lake Powell! This session blessed me with a little bit of normalcy, I got to do something I loved that I haven’t got to do for a long while! And even sweeter- my family was with me. I am beyond grateful for this gift. This year has been tough for all of us, some of us have had it harder than others. It’s been a tricky not to get caught up in feeling so much fear while things feel so uncertain. When I find myself getting caught up in fear energy I try & step out of it & step into a place of love & gratitude- to find the good. I can see & accept small miracles in my life & begin to receive. I am not taking anything positive or joyful for granted- even the smallest things. I am working to find the good in all situations. So when we broke down in the middle of nowhere in blazing hot S. Utah & had to cancel our week long water front camping reservations in Lake Powell, we pivoted. By doing so we got to see Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon NP & make amazing memories! And to top it off I got to capture this sweet couple on our last evening in this mystical landscape! Talk about a trip full of surprises!
(BTW, the land pictured here is the future home for an artist retreat they’re building as funds & donations come in to support the cause.)
