I have had the pleasure of working with this sweet and beautiful family multiple times now.
I adore them. I look forward to our sessions together, and I am so grateful to call them one of my “regulars”.
The mother of this family, Laura Dekkers, is not only gorgeous and kind, but she is also an extremely talented singer, who used to perform on Broadway.
Laura was recently featured in the lovely Ventana Magazine where writer Leslie A. Westbrook states,
“Laura has performed on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theaters across the United States and Europe, but left the lights and glamour of New York City to return to her native Ojai three years ago to raise her darling trio of young daughters in the small town’s rural atmosphere. Her credits include performing in the original Broadway cast of the Tony-nominated musical The Woman in White, by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and playing the role of Anna in Bachelor Pad at the York Theater in New York City. She also took on the role of the original Bonnie Rockne in the musical Rockne, by Laurence O’Keefe (of Legally Blonde).”
Laura, now a singing instructor in Ojai, CA, is also an inspiring mother who on top of that, facilitates women’s retreats. Yes, I would call her an awesome lady all around. Her info can be found at the bottom of this post.

You wouldn’t know it by these pictures, but it was this session was held at their home the day before moving day!
I take it as a major compliment that felt comfortable to invite me to their home and entrusted me to capture their family in the midst of such a hectic time.
I would have been a wreck if it were me in front of the camera! But they- all of them- were just wonderful.
And as always, we had a blast.
