Broke down here … Just another reminder that we are not in control of everything. If you have seen my stories (or my AZ/Utah highlights) you saw we were on the road yesterday happy as can be on our way to camp next to a river in Zion Utah then in front of Lake Powell in AZ… but then our RV broke down here in S. Utah. We got so very lucky because we were able to coast off of the main busy hwy & avoid all the crazy traffic & go down a quiet offramp where the RV completely died at a very quiet intersection- major luck. Many blessings occurred despite this disappointment– the fact that we were able to pull off the road & be safe when we broke down, timing was everything. The fact that if we would have broke down even a mile further we would have been seriously screwed, the fact that it was 102° in the middle of nowhere, but we happened to see 1 little hotel not to far from where we broke down- AND we could walk to it! And it turned out it had availability AND it was dog friendly, also, a sweet couple helped us bring some of our stuff out of the RV. The bummer aside from missing out of our beautiful riverside camp spot in Zion is AAA finally showed up a few hours later & towed our RV to a repair shop, but unfortunately everything was closed because it was Sunday. This morning we woke up to news that where the RV got towed is not a place that they do RV repairs so now we have to have it towed AGAIN to another place. We had to cancel both our awesome waterfront camp spots we were looking so forward to in Zion & Lake Powell. We also had planned to see Horseshoe Bend & other sites. So far all we’ve mainly seen the inside of our hotel room. And because of Covid this is not the typical hotel experience -we’re not getting in the pool, or using any hotel facilities or amenities. New plan-we’re going to pivot & the new hope is that we get a rental car while our RV gets looked at & that we can drive into the Zion area & at least get in a river and cool off! Thanks for all of your tips & sweet messages. We’re hanging in there- the kids are serious troopers & my dog is just happy to be with us LOL! Fingers crossed the RV gets repaired quickly & easily! Stay tuned.
